With St.Patrick’s Day around the corner (seriously, where did February go?), the foodie world is flooded with theme recipes to go with the occasion, from beer infused meals, like my Steak and Porter Pie, to every green concoction you can think of.
When it comes to celebrating St Patrick’s Day, I’m not really a green beer drinking kinda girl, nor am I that eager to try the ever popular Shamrock Shake from McDonalds (if you read the nutrition facts, you’ll understand why). I do however, on an almost daily basis, like to drink green smoothies. So, I thought it would be fun to whip up a healthy, creamy option for those looking for something to celebrate the day with. With a touch of vanilla and a hint of mint, this smoothie is the perfect treat.
With only 6 ingredients, no sugar, no food colouring, and a bunch of protein, I’d like to introduce my Shamrock Smoothie. Creamy, delicious and lightly sweet, I think it’s definitely a winner.
- 1 banana
- 1 Cup spinach
- 1/2 Cup mint
- 1/2 Cup greek yogurt
- 1 1/2 Cup almond milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 Cup hemp hearts
- Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
